Writer's Travel Log- How to complete your novel in 3 months

Vintage Summer Writer's travel log is a manifest of a aspiring novelist 3-month journey to complete a novel, travel the southern states, and create a digital journal of the expo. for monetary value.

Orange Slices

"Vintage Summers Harken you back to days from an old family photograph album with polaroid's of calico banners of bunting, VW wagons with an icebox of tea sandwiches, a flask of Earl Grey, a dish of buttered toast, and fresh picked roses lazily arranged in a empty wine bottle"

Creating a Writer's Travel Log for monetary value

I take to this idea of "Vintage Summer" to set the stage for multi-faceted work plans to finish a novel, develop some fresh ideas for a Vintage Summer Wedding, and create a platform for my country décor inventory to be used for set designs by photographers or event planners who are looking for throw-back retro vibe.

There are wonderful links splattered through-out my digital journal that will send you to those who hold the memories that ignite my creative thought.  As I journey to completing my novel this Vintage Summer 2022, my only hope for you is that you would come along with me, be inspired to complete your novel, and comment in the comment field below.  I share, generously, of my talent and visual art with monthly free offers.

 What is Your Vintage?

I find my travels to The Gulf Islands to begin my writing journey pressed into the pages of the 70's.  Budgeting my manifest to glean from sailboats and bikini's.    Every aspect of the creation process must first start with inspiration.  Vintage Summer take's me back to the era when sunlight dampens the twilight of fall.  I have a sense of propriety that characterizes itself in deck shoes dusted with sand, novels bent and wet laying next to beach towels and spilled sun tan oil. As I sit on my Vespa parked at Apartment 12, waiting for the traffic to subside and head on out to the bay I remember the days of my childhood to etch it, for now, as my creative muse.

"The novel that I complete in the next 3 months approached me 15 years ago while lazily flipping through a photograph album full of 70's polaroid's. I took to writing eagerly of what was lost allegorizing my childhood memories into imaginary broken Tales."

Getting Ready for Your First Step

Perhaps you have started a novel many years ago and you are ready to finish it. Gather together your research, rough manuscript and notes. For this 3 month time frame to complete your novel, plan a travel manifest based on Research that is needed to enrich your novel, the Nuance that exhibits itself in your novel, and the opportunity to escape to a quiet spot where you can be alone with your thoughts.

Sprig of Magnolia LeavesIts no shocker for those who know me that I am a highly organized individual and have found this is a Best Practice. If you have not organized your novel the list of documents below will be a useful tool for you to begin and be successful in your 3  month writing expo.

Documents you will need:

  1. Story Line Matrix for each novel you are writing.
  2. Rough Manuscript of novel you want to finish.
  3. Book Proposal Workbook.
  4. A Daily Syllabus to keep work logged and to keep you on track.

Research and Nuance

"The sketch book lay open with fairy designs, sea turtles, and long tail kites.   The nature hike bounty of rocks, feathers, wild flowers waiting to be pressed, and seed pods already man handled on-to illustration boards across the small back hatch of my wagon while Nibbles, my Chihuahua Dachshund puppy collected fleas and a girlfriend named "Gee Gee"

Seeing how this is a 3-month plan to finish a novel, it is good to know where you are.  After you have collected all of your data documents, a lap-top, and you have delved into what Vintage means to you we can start to manifest a travel log for 10 days out of each month.  You will want to travel to specific places that will enrich your story-line, corollate to your character builds, and specialized information that will hold your story accountable and true.

  • Character Research
  • Historical Research
  • Culture Research

"The conservatory and exhibit findings mark well with the illustration boards.  Leaving multiple horse farms along the way.  Pressing hard into the late evening over words, font, and standard.  Finishing multiple pages of "charms" the protagonist tallies with.  Painting three more muse's and keeping a watchful eye to the ocean scape."

Schedule Time with these Guidelines to complete your novel in 3 months

  1. Write 800 words a day = 1 hour a day
  2. Edit one chapter a day = 1 hour a day
  3. Research, preferably travel (10 day trip), to a location that best represents the nuance of your novel = 48 hours a week
  4. Book Proposal and Query = 4 hours a week
  5. Research your genre = 2 hours a week

Local Fare

"Bookshops and tea shops and trinkets galore.  Time wastes away and straw hats brim lace shadows in my eyes.  Ethereal muses surround my every perspective.  Lacquer painted fingers no need for woollies.   The Vintage Summer heat index's, Book Titles are scribbled on random napkins to read, and Local Conservation Events are planned to attend."

Fill your day with inspiration. Don't hide out in front of a lap-top.  Search out local bookshops and coffee shops and network with the Locals over events that peek your interests.  Nature Conservation Events, Local Music, History, and specific research for your novel can be found while networking with the Locals.

Crape Myrtle Blossom
Think, read, and eat your novel.  Become immersed in it.  Keep tabs on character build, plot, and sub-plot.  As you network with the Locals, consider interviewing someone who holds a certain job or experience you would other wise not know about.

The Vibe

The essence of your creative thought can be harnessed by images, places, people, music and memories.  Ignite yourself in thought.  Take time to think about the creative process that is uniquely yours. Develop a story board using Pinterest.

    1.  Create a story board using the title of your novel.
    2.  Spend time searching for pins that reflect the nuance of your novel.   Have Fun!
    3.  Once your collection feels complete-reach out to each pin.
    4.  Find the link to your favorite pins.
    5.  Collect your images and honor them in your writer's travel log prose.

"Watching a grey mouse run a pipe shoot four times as I struggle envisioning plot schemes. Packing for the next days hike, budgeting my expenses, wasting no time-expanding time with the locals. Then late into the evening hours-around a campfire glows cool breezes as I Research, click the keys on my lap-top for database work, production and placement of plot and character, as The Life of a Labeler expresses it-self."
